I am an international speaker, education consultant, authentic leader and entrepreneur. I carry a unique ability to distil concepts that appear higher level to a level that reaches everybody. My voice, insights and dedication to excellence remain among my most treasured attributes. Notably, Powerlist Magazine recognised me as one of the Top 150 UK Future leader in 2022.
My Story
From a very early age, I have always known there was something different about me. Hailed as a visionary from a young age and a natural orator, speaking and leadership have been inherent tendencies of mine. I was born to two very young parents who did not have much at the time and were trying to make ends meet, they taught me the power of dreams. My parents instilled hard work, excellence, and unrelenting determination in me.
At the age of 10, I owned my first website where I detailed current affairs and general advice. At 13, I ran a travel tourism business, and at 15, I owned a hamper business and jewellery business. By age 16, I had a blog titled 'IO's Words of Wisdom', empowering readers to aspire for more. Finally, at age 18, I ran a cooking business dubbed 'IO's Cuisine', offering a variety of popular Nigerian dishes. This entrepreneurial streak, coupled with my desire to empower others, birthed my social enterprise, Empowering Younger Generations CIC, in 2020.
Alongside my entrepreneurial pursuits, my desire to speak on behalf of others, represent the defenceless and give people a voice led me to study Law at the University of Southampton. I am now in my final year, aiming to become a solicitor. In my pursuit of studying Law, my natural affinity for leadership, evidenced across my education, from holding positions such as School Councillor to House Captain and Senator, has led me to take up several leadership roles.
These have included serving as an Inter-Religious Commonwealth Youth Ambassador for the Commonwealth Jewish Council and currently as a Youth Advisory Board Member at EY Foundation.
Owing to the fantastic support systems I had growing up and the stellar education my parents were able to afford me, despite not always knowing how they were going to pay for my private school education, their determination and sheer trust in God shaped the trajectory of my educational experience. I have experienced both state education and private education and understand what quality education can look like. This has fuelled my unrelenting passion to equip younger generations with high-value skills for life outside the education system and my various pursuits in reforming education in the United Kingdom.
Since 2022, I have taken to many stages, including YMS LDN and ISE Conference, the Labour Party Conference and soon Oslo Spektrum, to share my insights and story. My talks, presentations and sessions often leave audiences feeling inspired and are frequently referred to as inspiring and transformative.
